THE BOOK LAUNCH
In 2017 I finally got the book to market. It was quite a journey that started with the loss of my son Oliver in 2015. He had such a great sense of humour and brought so much joy to everyone around him. As memories fade, I knew I wanted something to remember him by. He loved stories and had a great imagination, especially when it came to dragons.
Poor Helen was given a cracking brief for the dragons! They needed to breathe fiery fire but they also needed to be friendly looking. Nothing scary in this book. Oliver used to run to the top of the stairs and then stamp his feet to scare any dragons away. We told them that at night they sat on clouds way up high and were absolutely not allowed in the house. From there, due to a business trip of my husband, that story then became, at night dragons went to stay on clouds in Dublin. (Apologies to all the Dublin parents) but that's why there is the sign post of Dublin & Belfast. And if you trace the distances, you will find the signpost stands in Lisburn.
The toys shown in the book are from photos I took of Oliver's own toys. His imagination, his toys, his joy will continue to live on and I hope your children enjoy this book as much as mine do.
